Fellow Members of PA ’66:

As our 50th reunion draws closer, we are finalizing plans for that long weekend. Attached to this letter is a copy of the program for each day from Thursday June 9 through Sunday June 12. The Reunion Committee has put together a program that will be interesting, thought provoking, and most of all fun. It appears that we are going to have an excellent turnout, and we can guarantee a rewarding four days.

  • Registration for the weekend will open in March. A PA ’66 and AA ’66 50th Reunion book with photos and updated biographies was sent out to all classmates. If you have already sent in your contribution it was included; and if you have not there is still time. A supplement to the book will be included in the mailing so if you’ve not already taken part, please send information:

  • You will note that the weekend kicks off at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday with golf at The Country Club; home of the Ryder Cup in 1999, and future host to US Open in 2022. If you are a somewhat serious golfer and would like to take part, please email Skip Freeman at sfreeman@hammondre.com. We will need to find enough members to accompany each foursome, so numbers will be critical.
  • We have reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard Marriott in Andover from Wednesday night through Saturday night. Please contact them directly at 978/794-0700 to reserve a room. Rates are $119/night for a king, and $129/night for two queens. PA has arranged for buses to run between the hotel and campus on Friday and Saturday nights, and we will also be sure that transportation is available for those that want it on Thursday night as well if the numbers justify it. If you have mobility issues, please let us know as alternate accommodations might become available. On campus lodging for our class will be in Paul Revere Hall for $45 per person per night.
  • Andy Scott, Eric Almquist, and Ray Healey have put together a terrific reunion website with tons of photos. Check it out and contribute to it at phillipsacademy66.com

Finally, know that we are doing everything possible to keep costs down. To achieve that, some generous classmates have volunteered to fund all the music for the weekend (Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights) and if you wish to contribute contact either Topper or Warren. Cost should not keep anyone from attending. If some financial assistance is needed to get you back on campus, please contact Judy Davis at PA directly and in confidence at Judith M Davis jdavis1@andover.edu.

There will be something for everyone; campus tours, cutthroat stickball, a gathering of academics, to the bull sessions at the bar late in the evening. There will be opportunities to remember those of our class who are no longer with us, and most importantly to extending and updating the relationships that date back 50 years. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

We hope you will definitely plan to attend – it is going to be great.
