It’s been 10 years.
The last time we all walked the Andover campus as students of the academy, Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” was the No. 1 song in America, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith dominated the box office, the Houston Astros played in the World Series, and the iPhone had yet to be invented.
Maybe we’re not that young anymore, but we’re certainly not too old to party! In that spirit, the time has come to reconnect with old friends and celebrate the ’05 glory days. During the weekend of June 12-14 we encourage you all to attend the 10 year reunion. Andover has planned a special weekend for us, detailed below.
We’ll start dealing with kegs and lodging in the following months, but for now, here are the main takeaways to keep in mind.
FRIDAY NIGHT, June 12
We hope you will join us Friday evening on campus for a cocktail reception in front of the Borden Gym at 5:30 p.m. The all-class dinner will be held in the Cage. We understand that it might be difficult for some of you to get to campus in time for Friday’s dinner, so please know you’re welcome to arrive any time that night. The post-dinner reception will be in the tent in front of GW from 8:30 p.m. – midnight.
SATURDAY, June 13
Don’t miss the alumni parade (line up in front of the Addison at 10:15 a.m.) and the ASM at 11 a.m. in the Chapel followed by a lunch on the lawn in front of Sam Phil at 12:15 p.m. You’ll hear remarks from Head of School John Palfrey.
Your dinner on Saturday night will be held in the Smith Center with the class of 2010. After dinner, there will be a DJ and dancing. The bar will close at midnight.
You should feel free to email faculty members in advance of the weekend to let them know that you will be here and would like to see them. They always appreciate the invitations!
