Abbot Academy 1962-65
Reflections on Life at an All-Girls School

Written during a sabbatical year from the independent school where Ellen Huntington Slade ’65 taught, this paper reflects on her experiences at Abbot through the lens of today. She writes of an era when young women’s behavior was micro-managed and shaped by the cultural norms of the school – and the times. Come find out what was happening down the hill from the PA campus – or, if you were at Abbot, let us know if your experience was different. Be part of the discussion!

2 – 3:30 p.m.

How Did We Get Here?

We invite you to join the group to reflect on life after Abbot and Andover and how our experience and the years immediately following informed this 50-year journey, got us to where we are, and prepared us for the next phase as we contemplate those fabled golden years. We plan to have a facilitated interactive discussion that will give everyone a chance to speak and share and catch up.
Please join Mac McCabe and Steve Seeche for what we hope will be a rich time in which to reconnect.
