Esteemed ‘57 Classmates,

I hope this finds you in favorable holiday spirits and anticipating the presidential inauguration this coming January with equanimity, imminent long-term travel plans or such other mental, emotional and geographical dispositions as seem likeliest to favor an honorable conscience and good humor.

This letter is about our 60th Reunion next year. The dates are Friday, June 9th through Sunday, June 11th.  I hope that each of you will entertain coming to the reunion.   Those of us still alive to receive such a letter as this might consider the reunion an occasion to celebrate together that we have made it this far.

An unofficial ad hoc reunion committee, including our Abbot “sistren,” is working to assure that time on the Hill together in June will be engaging, amusing and wholesomely memorable.   The usual logistical information will be on the way in the weeks ahead: lodging, schedules, charges and the like.

The Saturday afternoon time traditionally set aside for class gatherings will include a forum of classmate authors happy to share and discuss with us the arcane, but fascinating process of creating, writing, and publishing books. Dave Remington is guiding this effort and is the man to contact if you’ve had a book published and would like to participate in the forum, or if you have any other thoughts or suggestions. Email Dave at rem33@maine.rr.com.

I certainly hope to be present at our 60th.  I hope each of you will decide to attend.  Seeing you there will be a pleasure.

Bill Sterling
